Privacy Policy for Unfeed
Last updated: June 21, 2026
Unfeed (“the extension”) is a browser extension that hides news feeds and other distracting elements on social-media websites and replaces them with a quote.
What data we collect
None. Unfeed does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal or sensitive user data.
How the extension works
-
All of your settings (which sites and regions to hide, your custom quotes, snooze
timer, and style options) are stored locally on your device using the
browser's
chrome.storage.localAPI. - Unfeed makes no network requests. It has no servers, no analytics, no tracking, and no third-party services.
- The extension runs only on the specific social-media sites listed in its manifest. On those sites it reads the page's structure (the DOM) only to hide feed elements and insert a quote. It does not read, store, or send your posts, messages, account details, or browsing activity anywhere.
Permissions
storage— to save your settings locally.alarms— to update the toolbar badge when a snooze timer expires.- Host access to the supported social-media sites — to inject the content script that hides feed elements on those sites only.
Data sharing
Unfeed shares no data with anyone, because it collects no data.
